Growing up I was a two-sport athlete, playing football and basketball (with a little baseball thrown in, but that wasn't my favorite, haha). In college, I continued playing basketball and hitting the weight room for fun and fitness. It was after college that I stumbled into CrossFit, and I'm pretty sure I instantly fell in love. It provided a similar structure to what I was used to, with a major focus on movement quality and coaching that I wasn’t seeing in other certifications or methodologies.


Growing up as an “athlete,” the majority of our exercise and movement was through sports and weight room activities. It didn’t matter what sport it was—basketball, track, football, soccer, etc.—you had practice and the weight room. It was fun and focused on improvement. CrossFit brought that to the masses and fitness became more than just losing weight or building muscle.


With Stay Strong, we wanted to recreate that vibe. I envisioned it as a place for fun and improvement, where former and aspiring athletes could feel like they’re part of a team. You don’t have to be a Pro or a D1 athlete to improve and while most adults would consider it just community fitness, kids would consider it team sport-like. At Stay Strong, regardless of your athletic background, everyone can improve their fitness and leave feeling better prepared for the sport of life.
